Bio
Hugh McGinlay was born in the U.K. in 1980 but was in Australia before he could talk and in Melbourne before he could walk. After a pleasant but unremarkable childhood he decided that as it was only his well being he was risking, to have a crack at being a singer. At the time he hoped he would one day sing well in a cafe and a girl would smile at him. He was 17.
Ten years later he’s been in a half dozen bands, has traveled around the world playing, released 3 E.P.s, one full length album and has been smiled at by at least two girls. He tours Australia extensively and recently played shows in Europe. Aside from solo work he sings plays guitar and sings in alt-folk group Desperately Not Yoko. He currently lives in Melbourne with a girl called Louise and a cat called Minka.
He is very approachable and enjoys Jamesons Irish whiskey. Approaching him with the whiskey is a sure way to get on!
